Wine

2023 Grenache Shiraz, its fresh, fun, and bloody delicious. 80% hand-picked Grenache from the Boehm family’s Light Pass Block and 20% Shiraz grown on our family’s House on the Hill block. The fruit was Destemmed and then fermented on skins. The fermentation was cool and gentle, pumped over and plunged daily, ensuring every single morsel of flavour was captured. Once dry, the fruit was pressed using our small basket press then spent the next 7 months, cosy in a Hungarian oak barrel. This wine was hand bottled by yours truly. Each bottle is made with lots of love and care. It is unfiltered, un-fined, vegan and low in sulphites. I recommend drinking this wine now.
Chill it or don’t - eat with it - cook with it - dance with it - watch a sunset with it… I guess all I’m trying to say is love it!!!

Label

Rumpus Time…picture this; you and a friend, a table full of all your favourite food, a lethal card game and a funky record blasting in the background. There’s lots of laughter (of course) and (if you’re anything like me) a spilled bottle of wine on the table. One month ago, I married my best friend Turner, and our favourite nights are spent doing as described. This label was drawn to represent these chaotic, fun times. I drew it with a bottle open and my table looking quite similar to what was drawn. Each bottle was hand filled and silk screen printed.

Colour:

Bright cranberry, cherry red

Nose:

Up front, pink pepper corn tree on a hot summers day. An underlying aroma wafts past of a mixed chia blend, clove, cinnamon and cardamon. Cherries and satsuma plum fill in the gaps, with a delicate caress of herbaceous deliciousness, like walking through the herb garden. An irresistible aroma that will want you coming back for more.

Palate:

Upfront & centre; the naturally perfumed Grenache shines through, like a young lady holding a basket full of summer red fruit; mulberries, cherries and raspberries, peppered with fresh herbs plucked only moments before. The Shiraz supplies an underlying richness to the wine, currents and plumbs give a generosity and fullness to the blend. Time spent in Hungarian oak has gifted a gorgeous warm spice component. Pink pepper corn and warm spices dance beautifully with the freshness of the wine. Structured tannin's and balanced natural acidity drive this crunchy fresh blend.
