Wine

This wine is is made from the Boehm Family's White Frontignac grown in Light Pass. The fruit was destemmed, crushed and then the free run was carefully separated from the pressings. This wine was a wild fermentation, which was cold, slow, and gentle on full gross lees, followed by multiple racks into a little VC. Lastly, the wine was inline carbonated at Sidewood and sealed with a crown cap. a total of 300 bottles. A special thanks to Dad & Steve for your help throughout this journey.

Label

I wanted a label which reflected the relationship that Dad and I share, but also captures the essence of this wine. We were chatting about how the straight White Fronti is a slightly left turn on my Off With The Fairies... same but different! Between you and me, I'm not sure who came up with the name but as soon as it was uttered we knew it was right. Dad sat down and whipped out the drawing that we all agree was just perfect! The image you see behind is a photograph of sand dunes, taken by one of my dear friends Jack Caithness. I absolutely fell in love with his work, he captures the world in such a magical way. I just knew that I had to incorporate it into my labels. I printed the image on a pearl sticker which gives it such an ethereal vibe. Each bottle was hand labeled by the amazing ‘shed crew’ and then silk screen printed on top and finished with the white wax dip. You might notice slight variation, which I love! Each bottle is unique and labeled with lots of care.

Colour:

Bright Pale Straw with hints of green around the meniscus.

Nose:

Up front, an opulent melange of honeysuckle fresh white peach and lychees. These aromas make a dance with elder-flower and green melon. A breeze of hot honey on a warm night waft past, followed by Talcum flower and violets- like a hug from grandma.

Palate:

Upfront & center; a delicious late summer fruit salad of Honeydew melon, white peach   topped with a fragrant potpourri of lychee and kiwifruit . The mouth is firmly grasped by a pillar of structured jasmine pearl tea phenolics slipping seductively through a Rubenesque landscape of an opulent rounded harem dancer... with a full beard and work boots smoking a fat Durry! It's irreverent but I love it.

The Vibe:

Aromatic Light Pass White Frontignac creates this magical blend. It's a variation on the same theme of my Off With The Faries... but just made from white Front on its own. going solo with the Fronti was Dad's idea and it's kinda cool to see the nuance and difference not having the Semillon in the blend made. Sipping this wine, I can still picture myself walking through a fragrant floral garden on a warm summer’s night but its hand in hand with Dad, dressed as a fairy for the paren't dance at the year f ballet concert... Absolute Gold! This is what i love most about wine, it is such a personal intimate experience, different for each person. Whilst enjoying a drop of this wine, i encourage you to close your eyes, savour the flavours, and let it take you to that special place. Let the aromas capture you and take you on a journey, what or wherever that may be.
